Cheap spectrometer -- i-PhosHD - Link to info £85.00

This might be of interest to members, a very inexpensive spectrometer which is claimed to be able to measure with 1 nm accuracy, greater if the slit width is reduced (at the cost of peak light entering the instrument):

I looked for the best place to post this and decided upon this section, if not, please suggest where.

I can confirm these spectrometers are top notch. Before even talking about the cost these are pretty reliable and accurate for hobbyist needs, and then throw in the cheap cost. Absolute steal!

I was pleased with how well they work, I have an i-PhoseHD as well as an Ocean Optics spectrometer and for most needs, the iPhos is just fine for me.

It’s just fine for me. After analysing those pmma samples and detecting repeating lines. It shows that the spectrometer is more than reliable enough.
