I saw a video of someone using a LEP to spot a cloud, but not that high up. I used that laser with the 6 inch collimation lens to shoot it through an evil Halloween pumpkin face mask upon some low clouds once, it was creepy, might have scared some kids, if they saw it too.
I have a zoomable 1100 lm torch that isn’t even anywhere near as small in divergence as a LEP and I have projected a spot onto a low level cloud before.
